On Saturday, Governor Pat Quinn announced $5.3 million in "Illinois Jobs Now!" Capital construction investments including over $176K for Marshall County.
The $5.3 million is part of the fourth in a series of annual grants for local transportation projects.
Governor Quinn said that the funds "when added to the Motor Fuel Tax disbursement, mean local communities in this area will see an increase of about 17 percent in resources they need to move forward on immediate projects that address critical needs, create jobs, and support economic growth."
The projects will be selected and managed locally and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) providing oversight.
