Combine-pickup collision kills combine operator

A Mendota man was killed Wednesday in a two-vehicle accident five miles north of Utica. James Hampton, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene on Waltham/Wallce blacktop. His combine was stuck by a westbound pickup truck at the intersection of North thirty third and third roads. State police are handling the investigation.
