Cougars prowling in Henry County

A meeting was held in Geneseo Wednesday night to address the threat of cougars. Sheriff Gib Cady says based on witness testimony that there are cougars in the area. He says they discussed what to do if you ran into one on foot…even though the occurrence would be extremely rare. Cady says they contacted all deer hunters and trappers in the area to report if they see a cougar. He says law enforcement throughout the Midwest are reporting cougar sightings.
