Area hunters very active in first half of firearm deer season

Hunters were very active during the opening weekend of firearm deer season in Bureau County. A total of 1,024 deer were reported over the three days of legal hunting compared to 820 last year. He says he expects up to 350 deer to come through the shop after the second firearm season, which runs December 2nd through the 5th. Statewide, 68,307 deer were shot across the state.
