State police say LaSalle County will see more patrols in January

District 17 Police Captain Dan Roach says federal dollars will allow the police to place intense focus on areas for traffic violations, and safety belt and child safety seat laws. Police say safety belts save over 15,000 lives each year. They say half of the people killed in car accidents were not properly buckled up. Roach says LaSalle will also step up alcohol enforcement patrols during January. Additionally funded through a federal grant, police say the patrols will focus on preventing, detecting and taking action against offenders, drug or alcohol related.
