Princeton Park District closer to obtaining more property
At last night’s meeting, the Princeton Park District attorney Bob Russell sought approval from the board to enter into a contract for the purchase of the Don Hubbard property located at 1000 West Peru St. The cost is 107-thousand dollars. The proposal was approved. The tentative closing date is November 1st. In other business, Recreation Coordinator Ryan Luecke presented his report of attendance, expenses and revenues for the summer months. Luecke
stated that the summer camp attendance jumped from an average of 20 kids last year to an average of 35 kids this year. And the profit double from a little over 10-thousand dollars last year to almost 20-thousand dollars this year. He said this is due to watching expenses, cutting staff and making the camps more affordable and flexible. Luecke said he is also hoping to purchase new recumbent bikes, a digital scale, a stretching cage, and two, possibly four, remote controlled score boards for the gym. Executive Director Elaine Russell said she asked the staff to cut expenses and raise revenues and thanked Luecke for doing just that.
