Search continues for Ohio bank robber
The investigation continues into Thursday morning's armed robbery at an Ohio bank. Bureau County Sheriff John Thompson says just before 10 a.m. a man entered Citizens First State Bank on North Main Street, displayed a gun and demanded money from the teller. The suspect then fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The robber is described as a white male in his late 20s, about 6 feet tall, and wearing all black, including a ski mask. The gun
may have been an air pellet gun. Thompson says no one in the bank was harmed. Police were pulling over suspicious vehicles as well as those containing persons who matched the robber’s description. Ohio schools were put on lockdown as a precautionary measure. Thompson says two “persons of interest” were taken to the Bureau County Jail to be interviewed. He says at this point, it can’t be determined whether the robber has left the community. The Lee County Sheriff’s Department, State Police and Conservation Police are assisting the Bureau County Sheriff’s Department in the investigation. The FBI is also on the scene, as is standard procedure in all bank robbery cases.
