Seed salesman threatened with gun by rural Wyanet farmer
A man who owns a farm in rural Wyanet is in trouble with the law for allegedly threatening a seed company salesman with a gun. 66-year old Brian Hochstatter of rural Sterling is charged with aggravated battery. Authorities say Hochstatter had a Syngenta Seeds salesman and an Ag View FS representative visit his farm Wednesday to check out his corn for possible root worm damage. When told there was no damage, he allegedly pointed a gun at
the Syngenta employee and told him to go back into the field and check again. He did go back into the field, but then called 9-1-1. When police arrived, they found a gun in a building on the property and took Hochstatter into custody. He is out of jail after posting bond.
