EPA investigating Tiskilwa train derailment
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency is looking into this morning’s fiery train derailment in Tiskilwa. An IEPA spokesperson says the organization wants to see that the environment, as well as the waterways, are protected. They say if the train was carrying only ethanol, the fumes will burn off and there won’t be any long-term effects. But if the IEPA discovers any other chemicals are involved, they’ll reconsider the situation.
