Tiskilwa clean-up expected to run in to late night and early morning hours, evacuation lifted for some residents

Officials with the Bureau County Emergency Management Command Center announced this afternoon that they are still addressing fire conditions from the Tiskilwa train derailment.  A specialized hazardous material response team, or HazMat, is working with local fire authorities to continuing supressing and cooling the

remainder of the fire.  Operations are expected to continue into the late night and early morning hours.  There have been no injuries to firefighters or damage to homes or properties.  The evacuation of village residents has been lifted for those south of the railroad and along and east of State Street.  The evacuation remains in place for residents on East Main Street.
