The 14th annual Shadows of the Blue and Gray Civil War re-enactment is being held in Princeton this weekend, with most activities taking place at City-County Park.  President and Mrs. Abraham Lincoln, portrayed by Max and Donna Daniels of Wheaton, are in attendance Saturday and Sunday.  Also featured are woodworking and other demonstrations as well as music by the “Ol’ Man River Band”.  One of the main

features of the weekend is the ability for visitors to talk with the re-enactors.  A Civil War Fashion Show takes place Saturday, featuring fashion fads and fancies of the 1860s.  The public is invited to Saturday niight’s period dance to either watch the costumed dancers or to join in the fun.  There will also be a special night cannon fireworks show Saturday evening.  Sunday morning, a nondenominational church service is held to honor all soldiers and veterans.  Events run Saturday from 9:30 am to 9:00 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 3:30 p.m.  Admission is $8 for those over 12 and $4 for ages 4 to 11.   More information can be found at shadowsoftheblueandgray.com.  Listen for on-location broadcasts from the event Saturday afternoon on WZOE-AM 1490.
