Princeton's City Manager says goodbye
The Princeton City Council discussed the proposed property tax levy for 2011/2012 at last night’s meeting. The proposed rate, based on 136 million dollars is 1.0033. The valuation is 5 million dollars less than last year. Property taxes provide 10 percent of the revenues for the city. The council approved purchasing a 2007 GMC Pickup truck for 17 thousand, 865 dollars for the Animal Control Officer. They also approved the annual resolution to buy road salt with 40 thousand dollars from the Motor Fuel Tax funds and to continue a
contract with HD Supply Utilities for inventory services. Bids for chemicals for the Water Department were awarded to the following companies: Viking Chemical Company for Hydrofluosilicic Acid; Feed Distributors for Hydrated Lime ; Continental Carbonic for Carbon Dioxide; and Brenntag Mid-South for Chlorine. Mayor Cain appointed Dr. Paul Bonucci to replace Grant Lynch on the Tourism and Visitors Board through January 1, 2013. Cain then announced that according to city codes he will be acting city manager until one is hired. Under New Business Mayor Cain thanked Jeff Fiegenschuh for his years of service and expressed his appreciation for what he’s done. Fiegenschuh then read a prepared good-bye letter. In it he thanked the Mayor, Commissioners past and present, the department heads and citizens. The meeting was adjourned until this Thursday, November 10th at 5:00 for a Special Meeting of the Search Committee for the City Manager.
