Fire destroys rural Princeton home
Dwayne and Tracy Braddy’s log home, located at 3126 1675 E. Street, Princeton, caught fire yesterday. The call came in to the Wyanet Fire Protection District at 12:15 P.M. from a passer-by. Other fire districts from Buda, Bureau, Princeton, Tiskilwa, and Walnut also assisted. The Braddy’s were on vacation in Pennsylvania but were on their way back. No one was at home at the time of the fire. Two sons live at home but one was at work and the other one was at
school at Bureau Valley. The home was a two-story log structure with a full basement and seven bedrooms. The Braddys built it ten years ago and have been finishing it ever since. According to Randy Sommer, brother to Tracy Braddy, it was almost finished. The two-car attached garage contained two Harley Davidson motorcycles worth somewhere between 60 and 80 thousand dollars. The home and contents are a total loss.
