Gun Scare at Princeton High School

A few people were shaken up, but no injuries were reported after a gun scare earlier today at Princeton High School.  At about 3:00 Wednesday afternoon a man was spotted inside Princeton High School with a gun.  Princeton Police say 18-year old Blake Schmidt of Princeton, and not a student, had carried a shotgun into the school through the north doors and positioned himself against the wall in the lower level classroom area.  They say he appeared highly distraught and emotional.  The school was immediately evacuated and secured by police and school staff.  After lengthy negotiations, school administration and police were able to recover the gun and take Schmidt into custody.  He was taken to Perry Memorial Hospital for evaluation.  There were no injuries, and the case remains under investigation with charges pending.
