IVAC wants public comment on Utica bridge plan

The Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development have sent out e-mails informing businesses about the proposed Utica river bridge replacement and forms they can use to make comments to the Illinois Department of Transportation.  The email was sent out by IVAC Executive Director and CEO Marci Duro, indicating a public meeting was held Tuesday night in Utica regarding the Illinois Route 178 bridge over the Illinois River.  Discussions were held on whether to reconstruct the bridge or close it.  She says this is a major concern to local businesses.  In Duro’s email, she urges IVAC members to fill out a comment sheet and fax or drop it off at IVAC or mail it to IDOT.  Links to the web addresses for the comment sheets can be found below.
