Spree Killer Sentenced To Life

A convicted spree killer is going to spend the rest of his life behind bars.  A judge sentenced Nicholas Sheley to life in prison without parole.  He’ll also serve concurrent sentences of 30 years in prison for the Class-X felony of aggravated vehicular hijacking and another seven years for possession of a stolen vehicle.  Sheley was convicted in the 2008 killing of 65-year old Ronald Randall of Galesburg.  Randall's friends and family released balloons into the air outside the Knox

County Courthouse after the sentencing.   Sheley has pleaded not guilty to killing five other people in Illinois and in the deaths of a couple from Arkansas in Missouri.  In March, Sheley will go on trial for allegedly killing 93-year old Russell Reed of Sterling.
