I-80 accident sends semi driver to the hospital

Traffic was slowed on Interstate 80 yesterday morning after a semi overturned in a median near the Route 89 exchange between Ladd and Spring Valley.  State Police say the accident happened in the eastbound lane of I-80 at milepost 72 shortly after 5:30 am.  The driver of the semi, 44-year old James Givens of Tonica, was taken to Illinois Valley Community Hospital, then transferred to St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.  No word yet on his condition.
