Bonds and levy still up in the air at Princeton Elementary
The Princeton Elementary School Board approved the resolution of intent to issue 3-million 250-thousand dollars in working cash fund bonds at last night’s meeting. But, as Superintendent Tim Smith says, a lot depends on what happens with the state. If the state deems Perry Memorial Hospital taxable the school could see an increase in their EAV. But if the school doesn’t receive tax money from PMH the
most likely scenario could be a 1.7% decrease in EAV, which, Smith says will be pretty tough on the district.
The board also approved a tentative levy of 4½% or 226-million dollars. Smith says he’ll bring the final levy to the board at the December meeting. In other business, the board accepted with regret the resignations of Kathy Snow, Special Education Aide from Logan Jr. High, and Mary Sopher, Special Education Aide from Jefferson Elementary School. They approved the hiring of Nicole Bradford as lunch supervisor at Logan Jr. High and Jessica Gray as Special Education Aide at Logan Jr. High.
The next board meeting will be December 19, 2011 at 5:30 at Logan Jr. High School.
