Plug pulled on controversial proposed Princeton housing units
Princeton Zoning Officer Pete Nelson received a phone call Thursday from Mike Goetz of Laborers Home Development Corporation in Springfield. According to Nelson, Goetz said they were withdrawing the building permit for Woodland Acres. Nelson says the prospect was an expensive proposition for the developer, who had already put a significant amount of money into the plan, but had to meet some committments financially in order to keep their tax credits. He says after summing everyting up, they felt that there wasn't enough support in the city to consider moving forward. The proposed project would have been a 42-unit development consisting of 21 duplex-style buildings on the corner of Gosse Boulevard and Vine Street.
