Princeton's mayor makes a special proclamation
Mayor Keith Cain proclaimed December 2011 as Drunk and Drugged Driving Prevention Month in Princeton at Monday’s City Council meeting. Cain called upon all citizens, government agencies, business leaders, hospitals and health care providers, schools and public and private institutions to promote awareness of the impaired driving problem, to support programs and policies to reduce the incidence of impaired driving, and to promote safer and healthier behaviors regarding the use of alcohol and other drugs this December holiday season and throughout the year. The City of Princeton also announced
that it was notified of new IEPA regulations. As a result of these new regulations the city will no longer be allowed to collect certain electronic products with the weekly garbage pickup. The new list of electronic products will be included in the next electric bill. The city will continue to have at least annual, if not semi-annual, electronic recycling days where these products will be able to be dropped off.
