Princeton Park District Board approves tax levy increase
The Princeton Park District Board approved the ordinance for the tax levy at last night’s meeting. The total amount to be levied is 491-thousand 800 dollars, or a 1.9 percent increase. Attorney for the district, Bob Russell, says it is very close to the amount levied for last year and if you include the tax levy with the bonds, it’s actually 22-hundred dollars lower. In other business, the ADA, or Americans with Disabilities Act, came out with some new pool standards that
could affect the Park District. The new standards state that park districts must provide a way to either lift or push a person with disabilities safely into a pool. Princeton Park District has a lift at the Metro Center pool but not at Alexander Pool. The district could be in compliance with having the lift at just the Metro Pool. Executive Director Elaine Russell says the board doesn’t need to take any action on this new standard at this time.
