First 2011 IVCH baby is from Mendota

A Mendota couple had the first baby of 2011 to be born at Illinois Valley Community Hospital. The first IVCH baby of the new year is Ember Castaneda, who arrived at 10:05 p.m. Saturday, January 1st. She is the daughter of Alma and Gerardo Castaneda of Mendota. The New Year's baby weighed seven pounds and two ounces and was 19 1/2 inches in length. There were 410 births at IVCH in 2010.
