Lovejoy celebration underway

About 80 well-wishers gathered last night at the Elk’s Lodge to begin a year long celebration of Owen Lovejoy’s 200th birthday. Princeton Chamber of Commerce Director Kim Frey gave the welcome and introduced the Lovejoy Board of Trustees and city officials. Dexter Brigham, co-founder of Festival 56, presented a biography on Lovejoy and summed his life up with a quote from his friend. Many other events are in the process of being planned. Pam Lange of the Bureau County Historical Society shares one. Actors, authors, and special speakers sponsored by the Princeton Public Library are among other programs to look forward to this coming year.
