Princeton Police alert area residents of phone scam

A phone scam is popping up throughout the area. Princeton Police say people are receiving texts that read 6 0 0 4 @ 2 9 4 2 dot I V C t e xt.com.  The message continues: please call 6269239990 to restore your online account.  Chief Tom Root says if you call scammers will ask for all of your personal banking information hoping they can get into your online account or use the info to open new accounts.  Root says if you have any questions you can contact the police department at 815 872 2351.
