Bureau County wind farm controversy continues

     Controversy on wind farms continues to blow in Bureau County. According to the Illinois Wind Working Group, Center for Renewable Energy at Illinois State University, there are 27 completed wind farms in Illinois, 3 under construction, 16 additional wind farms have been issued permits, and 59 more are proposed. That’s a total of 105 wind farms with more than 6,652 turbines dotting the landscape, mostly throughout central Illinois.  Within Bureau County there are 4 completed wind farms, one under construction, and 3 more proposed for a total of more than 420 turbines.
