City of Princeton thanked for hopitality during blizzard
A big thank you to the City of Princeton comes in a letter from a trucker who found his overnight stay during the recent blizzard very accomidating. City Councilman Terry Madsen says they decided the morning before the storm hit to make any stranded motorist's stay a good one, "in the hopes that they would remember Princeton for that". Matson says by Wednesday afternoon city officials know that there were over 300 semis in town and over 800 backed up on Interstate 80 between the Princeton exit and Route 40. Madsen credits the city for pre-planning staging areas for cars and semis. He says the Princeton Elementary School District donated buses to shuttle drivers to restrooms and food locations. He says with the help of Princeton Police and Fire, things wend smoothly down to the last truck.
