Sheriffs offer scholarships

If you’re seeking higher education and live in Bureau County, you might be eligible for a boost. Sheriff John Thompson says the Illinois Sheriff’s Association is awarding scholarship funds throughout the state. He says he will award one 500-dollar college reward for the 2011-2012 academic year. Thompson says it's something they've offered before he took office, and it's just a good thing. Applications are available at the Sheriff’s office in Princeton or online at www.ilsheriff.org. Thompsons say they must be turned into his office in by March 11th.

LaSalle County Sheriff Tom Templeton is offering the same scholarship with the same applciation locations and deadlines.
