New aerial ladder truck for Princeton?

The Princeton fire department has made its recommendation.  Now it's up to the city to approve a bid for a new aerial ladder truck. Fleet manager Justin Walters is recommending Pierce, a company based in Appleton Wisconsin, to build the truck. He says his decision is based on a long standing relationship, quality, safety, and because it will prove most beneficial to the taxpayer.  The Pierce bid was the highest at nearly 786,000.  The lowest bid came in around 700,000 from a company called Smeal. Walthers says though Smeal was the lowest bidder, they did not meet the bid specifications.
