IVCC ending 40 year old program
Illinois Valley Community College is brining a 40 year-old program to an end. IVCCs Fran Brolley says the college will no longer be offering classes at Sheridan Correctional Center, effective July first. He says Illinois’ economy is the main reason for the separation. For 40 years, the college has been offering the classes, which include commercial custodian, computer A+ certification, food service, horticulture, warehousing and beginning welding. Brolley says there are over a dozen other prison education programs statewide…and they hope someone picks up where they leftoff.
