Illinois has fifth highest gas prices in the nation

Three dollars and 99-cents is the average price Illinois drivers are paying for a gallon of gas.  And according to Triple A, it's the fourth highest in the nation.  With gas prices so high, Triple A's Nick Jarmusz says slowing down will help your gas further. Other Triple-A savings tips include carpooling or using public transportation, working from home if possible, and cleaning out your trunk to minimize the load.  The spike in gas can be attributed to several things, including unrest in the Middle East and the high cost of crude oil.
