Bond set at $2 million each for three Ottawa murder suspects
Bond has been set at 2-million dollars each for three people charged with murder in the death of an Ottawa man in what’s now being called a botched drug deal and robbery. 25-year-old Luis Lomeli of Sheridan, his sister 30-year-old Jamie Lomeli of Ottawa and 29-year-old Jason Ward of Aurora are all charged with first-degree murder. Ward was paroled from prison less than a week ago. They are charged in the death of 30-year old Darrio Hunter. Jamie Lomeli had already been under arrest for obstructing justice. Luis Lomeli’s live-in girlfriend, 23-year-old Sylvia Enriquez of Sheridan, is also charged with obstructing justice. She’s being held on $150,000 bond. At about 4:45 Monday morning, Ottawa Police responded to a 911 call at Lomeli’s house at 512 Pierce Street. Once there, they found Hunter lying in the driveway. He was taken to Ottawa Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room. He reportedly died of blunt force trauma to the head. The defendants will be back in court later this month. The penalty for first-degree murder ranges from 20 to 60 years in prison with no chance of probation.
