IVCC to host public hearing on sulfur dioxide

ivcc-masthead     Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby will host a public hearing tonight on sulfur dioxide.  The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says Illinois has too much in the air and something has to be done to clean it up.  Brad Frost with the Illinois EPA says the sulfur dioxide contaminates the air and produces acid rain.  It's been found in the Illinois Valley and also areas near Pekin, Lemont, and Wood River.  Frost will talk about the issue at several public hearings.  The first is at 6:30 tonight at IVCC.
