New Bureau Valley Principal hired

     Bureau Valley High School has a new principal.  The school board Monday hired Patrick Showalter to replace current principal Mike Patterson beginning with the next school year. The board voted not to rehire Patterson as principal in March, but then voted to hire him for the new position of district curriculum director. It was not long after that Patterson submitted his resignation, effective June 30.  Patterson will be the new principal at Malden Grade School.  Showalter currently is principal at Hartsburg-Emden High School in central Illinois.  The board also voted to hire Jim Wilson as district curriculum director, Paul Arteaga as high school P.E. teacher, and Lisa Jackson, Christy Kady and Victoria Leffelman as Response To Intervention specialists.
