Big winners at Logan Junior High
A big round of applause went to the twelve winners of the Dare to Dream contest at Monday’s Princeton Elementary School Board meeting. Mrs. Lynette Bima presented new software to third place recipients Josh Wray, Maddy Ellis, Lydia Stevens, Colby Schertz, Brianna Barajas, Bailey Reed, Rene Scaggs, and Malena Wheeler. New personal computers went to second place winners Erin Peterson, Silverio Napules, and Addison Bryson. First place winner, Jackie King, received a five thousand dollar college scholarship.
Dare to Dream is a national scholarship competition for grade school through high school students and based on creative visually designed presentations of what the students want to become.
In other business, Logan Jr. High Librarian Amy Haring and Media Specialist Jean Norman gave a demonstration of the Apple IPOD Touch devices. They are used to help students with spelling, math, writing, and exercising their memories. The IPODs were purchased earlier this year with funds from the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.
