Bureau County windfarm road repairs on the way

Since recently receiving a settlement with Iberdrola Renewable wind developers, the Bureau County Board now has the necessary funds to begin road repairs. The developers, who own Providence Heights wind farm south of Tiskilwa, agreed to pay one point one five million dollars to the county. In other County Board business from Tuesday night's meeting, a road use and escrow agreement was approved for the Northern Border Pipeline. County Engineer John Gross stated it consists of language similar to wind farm road agreements. Gross said he expects twenty-three oversized and overweight loads of equipment and pipes which will be especially hard on roads in Dover Township. The company is fronting money for road inspection. They hope to be finished by October.
