Walnut fire injures one person
An oxygen explosion in a Walnut home has left one person injured. Walnut fire and ambulance were called to the scene yesterday afternoon. Fire Chief John Davis says the fire was out when firefighters arrived, so they spent about 20 minutes clearing smoke from the home. Davis says an oxygen "amplifier" on a breathing device apparently exploded. He says the likely cause of the explosion was careless use of smoking materials. The name of the person injured has not been released.
