First day of Summer sees storms in the area

A series of storms rolled through North Central Illinois last night, with high winds and hail. Weather warnings were issued in the evening hours for Bureau, Marshall, La Salle and Putnam Counties. A few trees and power poles were reported down in Bureau County in addition to some other minor damage. A portion of La Salle County was under a tornado warning after an unconfirmed report of a tornado just outside Streator. In Peru, a lightning strike affected electricity to several homes. No serious damage was reported from last night’s storms.
