PES Board Discusses Future of Buildings
The future of the Princeton Elementary School buildings needs to be discussed. During the approval of action items at last night’s Princeton Elementary School Board meeting, Steve Bouslog commented on the Ten Year Life Safety Survey. An architect must complete this survey every ten years according to the law. The architect submitted almost two million dollars in repairs to various school buildings could be spent over the next ten years. Bouslog stated the board either cannot continue supporting all the buildings PES has or they’ll have to run them much more efficiently. He would like to have a discussion of what the board is going to do in ten or twenty years and suggested developing a comprehensive building plan. Board President Judd Lusher said this would be placed on the agenda for next month.
In other business, the following personnel decisions were made: Helen Rodrig, Tabetha Morton, Julie Grady, Sherry Sims, Joanie Barnes, and Maribeth Crowe were hired as special education aids; Tonya Yepsen was rehired as a first grade teacher; Michelle LeMar is the morning supervisor at Logan Jr. High; Emily Cook is the Speech Therapist; and Jamie Patterson was hired as the forth grade teacher. Resignations by Bright Beginnings teacher, Sara Edlefson and first grade teacher, Tracie Mistarz were accepted. Science teacher Jackie Davis will retire as of June 25th 2015 and in a cost-saving measure, Mr. Bima will be the Principal of both Reagan and Lincoln schools.
