4th of July fireworks aplenty this weekend

     Area residents are celebrating the holiday weekend with fireworks displays in several communities. Tonight fireworks are planned for Utica at Cary Memorial Park and in Streator at the Streator High School Football Field. Tomorrow night, Peru sets off fireworks along the riverfront and Walnut will have fireworks at their village park. Some communities are sticking with the traditional Fourth of July date. Monday night fireworks are scheduled for Ottawa at the riverfront, Hennepin at the riverfront, Henry at Waterfront Park, and Mendota at the fairgrounds. Princeton will celebrate the Fourth of July with its annual fireworks display at dusk Monday at Zearing Park, located on South Euclid Avenue. WZOE will be broadcasting on-location from the fireworks and will provide a musical accompaniment. Henry will have their fireworks Monday night at Waterfront Park. Henry also holds a 4th of July Parade Monday afternoon. WRVY 100.5 FM will broadcasting on-location beginning at about 2 o’clock. Spring Valley is holding off on fireworks until July 24th this year during its 125th birthday celebration.
