Early morning fire barbershop fire considered suspicious

The investigation continues into a suspicious Thursday morning fire at a barbershop in Mendota.  Authorities say the fire appears to have been deliberately set, possibly to cover up a burglary.  Firefighters went to the building on 9th Street before sunrise Thursday after someone called reporting smoke.  After the blaze was put out, an investigation left the fire marshal’s office and Mendota Police Department believing it was arson and a burglary.  If you know anything about the burglary or fire, you’re asked to call Mendota Crimestoppers or the Mendota Police Department.
