Bond set for Walnut man facing felony meth charges

Bond has been set at $40,000 for a Walnut man arrested last week on felony meth-related charges. 25-year-old Shane Walters faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted of the Class 1 felony of possession of anhydrous ammonia with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine, and up to 5 more if convicted of the Class 3 felony of possession of anhydrous ammonia in an unauthorized container. He’s being arraigned this afternoon. Authorities say the case remains under investigation for possible other suspects and additional charges against Walters.
