Zearing Park’s new addition is getting ready for full use
At last night’s Princeton Park District Board meeting, Executive Director Elaine Russell announced Princeton Youth Soccer League Director Jim Pinter approached her with a win-win idea. Pinter wanted to possibly exchange the remainder of their $1,600 field usage fee for items needed in the new concession stand at Zearing Park. With Russell’s approval, Pinter bought equipment that was on sale in the amount of $750 that included a three-bay stainless steel sink, three stainless steel tables, a grease trap and two plastic shelves. That amount was then deducted from their fee. Princeton Youth Soccer is aware these items belong to the Park District and are going to continue looking for additional equipment. In other business, representatives from Christ Community Church, which borders Zearing Park on the west, proposed building a path going from the church to the park and offered their south parking lot for possible overflow parking. Russell says she will discuss this with the Park District’s engineer. And in still other business, Superintendent of Parks Keith Scherer said the four outer soccer fields to the south would be ready for play this fall.
