Name released of alleged attacker in Peru stabbing incident

More information is being released on an early Thursday morning stabbing in Peru.  29-year old Richard Vasquez of Peru will be charged with attempted murder when he is released from a Peoria hospital.  He faces up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the Class X felony.  Vasquez allegedly stabbed a 15-year old Iowa girl in a Peru house where he was living.  He’s also charged with aggravated battery.  Vasquez is hospitalized for injuries sustained after crashing through a glass pane while fleeing police.  The teen stabbing victim, whose identity has not been released, remains hospitalized at St. Francis in Peoria, where her condition reportedly is improving.
