Perry Memorial Hospital has good year and not so good year

     Perry Memorial Hospital President and CEO Rex Conger and Chief Financial Officer Tricia Ellison attended the Princeton City Council meeting last night to present the 2011 fiscal year audit. The bad news is that the hospital suffered a net loss of over one million thirty-five thousand dollars. The good news is that 99% of patients surveyed said they would return to PMH and 99% said they would recommend the hospital to family and friends.

In other business, a discussion to purchase Ameren customers north of I-80 took place. Eight customers would be required to purchase electrical services from Princeton. Currently they buy on the open market plus pay Ameren for distribution. Mayor Cain said he would have to see some hard-core numbers before voting on this item.
Speaking of electricity, an ordinance amending the electric rates was passed. According to City Commissioner Joel Quiram, an error was made stating the electric rates would be set at $10 for out of town residential customers. They should be set at $14.  In still other business, Lou Brown was re-appointed to the Police and Fire Commission.
