16th annual Relay For Life of Bureau County is tonight in Spring Valley

The 16th annual Relay For Life of Bureau County takes place tonight at Hall High School's track in Spring Valley.  This year's theme is "Betting Against Cancer, Betting On A Cure" and the event features several Las Vegas-themed laps.  The opening ceremony begins at 6:30 this evening.  Cancer survivors can attend a free dinner from 5 to 6 pm.  Other highlights of the event are a silent auction, a performance by the group 212 and a  purple glove dance by the Main Street Dance Academy.  The Luminaria Ceremony begins at 9 pm with hundreds of luminaria burning along the track.  Activities continue all through the night, until the closing ceremony at 4:30 tomorrow morning.  This year's goal is to raise $100,000 to benefit cancer research.  Z-98 will be broadcasting on-location from the Relay For Life starting at 5 this afternoon.
