Metro Center pool closed for renovations

   The Bureau County Metro Center pool closed on Monday and won’t re-open until August 15th at 5:30 a.m. Executive Director Elaine Russell explains the necessary closure, “This is actually the culmination of approximately a 5 year project on the indoor pool, which started with the removal of the sound absorption panels, the replacement of the skimmers, replacement of the old wooden benches with new handicap benches, the painting of the murals and the installation of the new baffles.  During this renovation we have been able to paint the pool and replace the 22 year old motor and bring the drains up to code.”  Bureau County Metro Center members may use Alexander Pool free of charge during this time.
