Large crowd turns out for Governor's visit to IVCC

quinn ivcc th     Governor Pat Quinn was joined by Illinois Community College President Jerry Corcoran, State Senator Sue Rezin, and Representatives Frank Mautino and Don Moffitt and a number of other legislators yesterday at Illinois Valley Community College in Oglesby to announce more than 22 million dollars in capital funding to build a new Community Technology Center. Quinn said the Center would prepare IVCC’s students for the high-tech jobs of the future, while creating hundreds of jobs now.  The project will cost a total of 30.4 million dollars with the state paying 22 million dollars and the school providing 7.6 million. Bids for the construction of the center are scheduled to open on August 25th, with work to begin this fall and be completed in late 2013.
