Mendota's Sweet Corn Festival continues through Sunday

     Mendota’s 64th annual Sweet Corn Festival continues today, with a carnival, food booths and dunk tank.  The “Decatur Park Singers” perform at 7:30 and the queen pageant is at 8.  Also tonight, it’s music by “Train Company” and a beer garden.  The main attraction is the tons of free, hot, buttered Del Monte sweet corn.  Mendota’s chamber of commerce says they expect over 60,000 visitors this weekend, consuming nearly 50 tons of sweet corn.  Mendota’s Sweet Corn Festival continues through Sunday.
