Sheffield woman gives birth on shoulder of Route 6

     A Sheffield couple is celebrating their new arrival, and the unique way in which she arrived.  Ashleigh Munson of Sheffield gave birth to her daughter early Monday morning on the shoulder of Route 6 just east of Seatonville.  She gave birth to Claire Rileigh Gould at 4:12 a.m. inside their vehicle with her husband, Jake Gould. Munson went into labor about 3 a.m. The couple was rushing to a Spring Valley hospital when Munson said the baby was coming.  Gould pulled to the side of the road. He went around to the other side of the car and a few minutes later Claire was born. Gould wrapped the baby in sweatpants and called the hospital emergency room.  The father says there were no complications and the mother and daughter are resting. He calls the story "as perfect as it could be."
