Princeton farmer shows foreign delegation a new way to do business

Local farmer and member of the Illinois Corn Marketing Board, Jim Rapp     hosted a delegation from China Wednesday at his farm. The group consisted of approximately ten high level Chinese officials, Thomas Dorr, President and CEO of the U.S. Grains Council, Andrea Gowger, Senior Feed Grain Trader for Zeno Grain, representatives from COFCO, and Phil Thornton, Value Enhanced Projects Director for the Illinois Corn Marketing Board. Thornton says the group is interested in modernizing.  Dorr says the delegation formed because of the extraordinary economic growth in China and the emerging middle class. He says the Chinese have to understand they can have food security.
